Our 2008 schedule of public courses and open access events includes:
Online Information 2007 free seminars Tuesday, 4th December 2007. Searching without Google: alternative tools for more expert searching (4 MB). Also available on Slideshare Thursday, 6th December 2007. Tricks and tips for better web search. Also available on Slideshare. All of the RBA courses can be tailored to meet your organisation's specific needs. Courses can be held on your own premises (if you have the necessary equipment already installed) or we can organise off-site facilities. Subjects covered include: business information; market research; search strategies; RSS, blogs and wikis; managing information overload and ecommerce. Courses offered by other organisationsYou may also be interested in courses organised by UKeiG (formerly UKOLUG). These cover a wide range of subjects relating to electronic information, are reasonably priced and often held outside of London. Many include practical sessions. Manchester Business School offer a variety of one and half day seminars and workshops on business and management research techniques. Also in the North-West of England is NoWAL (North West Academic Libraries). NoWAL runs a regular training and development programme and courses are open to those who work outside of NoWAL. CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) and its Branches and Special Interest Groups offer workshops and seminars around the country. Prices vary and some events are free to members. A calendar of events is available on the CILIP web site. TFPL provide training courses at all levels on a wide range of information related topics. |
