BRIX - The Builders Resource & Information

Setup and maintained by the Federation of Master Builders, an employers' trade
association for the UK building industry with 15,000 members. Membership requires
a builder prove that they offer suitably high standards of working practice
and business methods and is thus widely accepted as a hallmark of quality. The
Find a Builder pages enable you to search by trade for example house builders,
carpenters, roofing contractors and by postcode, town or village.

The Bankers' Almanac. The database has information on over 27,000 banks from
200 countries world-wide. There is in-depth information on the 4,500 internationally
trading banks, with 36,000 contact names plus a ranking of the top 3,000 banks
in the world and by each country. This is a subscription service but you can
sign up for a two week free trial.
In addition to the Almanac there is a free section called Bankworld giving
access to a list of the World's top 50 banks, market survey extracts, conferences
and exhibitions, links to relevant organisations and associations, credit rating
definitions, financial journals and useful links. Subscription required for

Web site. An excellent resource for locating suppliers in this area.

US Agriculture Exporters

(Select "Online Searchable Database" from the links on the left hand side of
the screen).
A free online database from the US Department of Agriculture of over 3,800 US
based agriculture exporters. You can search by product classifications and categories,
type of firm (agent, broker, manufacturer, distributor etc.), location (state),
and the region to which they export. Alternatively you can carry out a keyword
search on company or product name. Information on each company includes address,
contact details, products, regions to which they export, D&B number, annual
sales and number of employees.

National Union of Journalists

The NUJ Freelance Directory lists 1,500 freelancers in the UK and Ireland by
region, skill and specialism. It covers writers, editors, sub-editors, designers,
illustrators, cartoonists, photographers, broadcasters, scriptwriters, web designers,
translators, trainers and researchers. This is a useful directory if you are
looking for someone with specialist writing skills or just trying to track down
an individual journalist.
