RBA (Rhodes-Blakeman Associates) was set up in 1989 by Karen Blakeman to provide training and advice on the use of technology for accessing information. We now offer a range of publications, training and consultancy services with the current emphasis being on the Internet.

We work with a network of freelance consultants, each with their own particular skills and expertise. This means that we can tailor projects to meet clients' precise needs. The types of projects on which we have worked include:

  • On-site training on the use of information services and the Internet
  • Training on advanced Internet searching
  • Tackling information overload
  • Selecting and evaluating appropriate external information sources
  • Development of electronic information services
  • User support materials
  • Testing information products and user interfaces

As some of our work is confidential we are not able to give you a detailed list of named clients. Recent clients have included several financial institutions in the City; government departments; research and trade associations; Business Links; companies in the engineering, energy, food and pharmaceutical sectors.
